The challenge
How can we prevent silt buildup in sewer systems while keeping construction costs to a minimum?
The buildup of deposits in sewer systems is one of the main concerns for operators. In fact, pebbles and other mineral materials can cause malfunctions in the infrastructure. Installing a sediment trap upstream of the most sensitive infrastructure (pumping stations, siphons, storm water basins, etc.) helps protect these structures and limit the buildup of sediment in the collectors.

The sediment trap: an economical alternative to the sand chamber
The sediment trap is more compact than a sand filter. It requires less ground space.
It helps minimize the resuspension of stored materials and prevent the formation of H2S.

A characterization of the hydrodynamics and solid transport within the network is conducted to ensure that the equipment is properly integrated into the existing environment and to guarantee its effectiveness.

Manufacturing and Installation of a Sediment Trap
The gravel trap is custom-designed and manufactured in our workshops in France.
The stainless steel channel manufactured by 3D EAU can then be delivered to the site along with its prefabricated chamber for a turnkey solution.
If the chamber has been cast in place, 3D EAU delivers and installs the stainless steel channel on site.
Maintenance of the sediment trap
The pebble trap must be cleaned when the storage chamber is full. The structure is designed so that all operations can be performed from the surface, without interrupting treatment.
