The sediment trap: Prevent sewer system silting
Issue
Control sediment buildup and reduce resuspension, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Applications : Can be installed before infrastructure (like pumping stations, outfalls, siphons, and stormwater basins) to safeguard them and minimize silting in the networks.

The Sediment Trap: A Cost-Effective Alternative to Sand Chambers
The sediment trap reduces the resuspension of stored materials and prevents H2S formation.
Proposed solution
The sediment trap captures mineral matter (such as sand, gravel, pebbles, etc.) through a calibrated opening, minimizing resuspension while preventing grease flotation and the accumulation of floating materials.
Patented device: Patent 09 00074, “Optimization of Grit Removal Facilities” (Publication No. 2 940 987).

Methodology
- Feasibility Study: Assessing the current network environment. Hydrodynamics and solids transport within the network are analyzed to ensure proper integration of the equipment into the existing system.
- Validation, when required, through 3D modeling, especially for non-standard structures, to evaluate the efficiency of the sediment trap within the network.
Design, manufacture and installation
The sediment trap is designed and manufactured in our workshops in Lyon. It is then tested on a test bench, delivered to site and installed.
The sediment trap requires cleaning when the storage chamber is full. The operation can be performed entirely from the surface, eliminating the need to access the sewer.
